Abstract
Intracranial epidermoid cysts are relatively benign lesions, unusual congenital tumors of ectodermal origin that constitute 0.2-1.8% of all intracranial tumors. About 40% of those extracerebral intradural lesions are located in the cerebellopontine angle, and appear as well-defined, homogeneous, lobulated masses with a fibrous capsule filled with cholestrol crystals, keratin, protein, debris and cerebrospinal fluid. Symptomatic cysts must be surgically removed with the tumor capsule. The result of surgical treatment is satisfactory, but correct preoperative radiological diagnosis remains difficult. We reported white epidermoid cyst that showed reversed signal intensity on MR images, with high signal intensity on T1- and low signal intensity on T2-weighted images.
